Accommodation is provided but at a fee depending on the institution. In Canada
for example, there are three types of accommodation: One can either decide to
stay in the hostels within the campus, in apartments outside the campus or home stay with families that are offering accommodation facilities.
Are there part time jobs, how do they run with campus programme
regarding time for study and work?
There are part time jobs and it is up to the student to manage his/her time between working and reading
How does one obtain a work permit?
In Canada students apply for work permit after six months in college/university, whereas in the US a student must have a social security number valid for I year in order to be allowed to work
What is the cost of living?
This varies from country to country and also depends on the location of the college/university; however this ranges between US $3,000.00 – 7,000.00 per year.
Do these Universities consider credit transfer?
Yes but one must confirm with the relevant institution and what has been covered should be verified.
Are there scholarships for undergraduate programmes?
Yes there are partial scholarship to undergraduate intakes depending on the college/university and the grades one has achieved
What is the hospitality like, is there racism, and can this affect one’s adjustment to college life and subsequently one’s initial performance?
